Here's all you need to know heading into matchday ten of the 2019/2020 Bundesliga season.

Bayern Munich finally ended their mini-slump with a hard-fought win over Union Berlin, and Robert Lewandowski continues to light up the scoring charts. Die Roten had to work really hard midweek to secure a win over a stubborn Bochum side who refused to give up after going 1-0 up thanks to a stroke of luck after youngster Alphonso Davies's unfortunate own  goal, but eventually, Niko Kovac's men overpowered the minnows to progress in the DFB-Pokal.

Elsewhere, Borussia M'gladbach still hang on to top spot after winning their game over Eintracht Frankfurt in a six goal thriller, and surprisingly, Freiburg have managed to creep up on everyone and sneak into third place. They're just one point behind Bayern and two off the top of the table in what has been one of the more surprising results so far this season.

However, will the table change yet again after this round?

Here's all you need to know ahead of matchday ten.

Talking points ahead of matchday ten

Freiburg's march up the table - but can they keep it up?

They seemed to come out of nowhere, especially considering they didn't even finish in the European spots last term. However, in what has been a rather interesting start to the season and a congested table after nine rounds, Freiburg have now managed to sneak into the Champions League spots.

Of course, it's still early on, but the fact that Freiburg finished in 13th place last term and are notorious for bouncing back and forth between the first tier and the 2.Bundesliga and now are in third place is really interesting. Let's see whether they will still be in the top four by the time the Christmas break rolls around, and where they will be standing in the spring with eight rounds to go next year.
