Nonetheless, both Spanish giants have one huge worry when they resume their league campaign: suspensions. Real Madrid are in danger of losing Sergio Ramos, whilst Barca have Neymar’s availability for El Clasico to worry about, as both players are a yellow card away from being suspended.
The Real Madrid captain has four bookings under his belt which date back to a month-and-a-half back prior to his injury layoff. The Selecao ace has as many yellow cards, but it took him more games to reach that tally than the Spanish center-back.
Zizou can afford to rest Ramos on Saturday, as a defender is more prone to being booked. The Blaugrana do not boast that same liberty, as Anoeta Stadium has been a ground where the Catalan giants have struggled before.
The 0-0 draw with Malaga means Barca cannot afford another slip-up in the title race. That also means that Neymar will be needed. Expect Luis Enrique to play the Brazilian but advise him to remain cool-headed.
