16-year-old Tom Bedford sadly passed away due to suspected heart condition after witnessing his team’s 2-0 loss.

Heartbreaking news has made its way from Thurcaston, a village in Leicestershire, England, announcing the passing away of a 16-year-old Leicester City fan named Tom Bedford.

As reported, the teenager was watching the English Premier League leaders play their FA Cup third round replay clash with Tottenham on the 20th of January, which they lost 2-0, before complaining of breathing problems to his mother.

Ambulance was called, but the devoted Foxes fan had already collapsed before help made its way. Unfortunately, Tom was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital despite all the efforts of the doctors.

The young boy’s father, John, revealed that he had also been watching the game in a separate room when a visibly-upset Tom came downstairs shortly before collapsing, giving details on the tragic incident.

“He burst into the room after the second goal had gone in, he was upset and he told me so, the game was still going on.

“I heard Helen [Tom’s mom] shout me from upstairs.

“It was the worst thing a parent could ever have to do and to see your child get slowly worse in front of you. It was awful. I couldn’t believe what was happening.

“It was intense, it was unfair and it was wrong.

“One of the doctors came out and said they’d tried everything they possibly could and there was nothing else they could do.”

According to the coroner’s office, the 16-year-old’s passing away was suspectedly caused by either a blood clot or arrhythmia (an irregular heartbeat).

“He said he couldn’t breathe, because he did take the game so seriously,” said the teenager’s mom.

“He was just a lovely lad, he was family orientated and he was just my boy.
