UEFA Nations League - How to watch all games on September 21-23, 2022

September 20, 2022 By Oscar Rojas
With France and England facing relegation right in the eye, it will be interesting to see how things unfold in the final International break prior to the World Cup.

There will be some crucial fixtures taking place in the UEFA Nations League this week, where some of the top countries in the world will be fighting for their pride and to keep themselves in the hunt for the top spots in their respective groups.

The tournament has seen teams such as Denmark and Hungary on top of their respective groups when other national sides were expected to claim the top spots in those lots. On the contrary, defending champions France and England are in serious risk of being relegated to League B, and their fates could be determined by the outcome of their games this week.

Without further ado, let's have a look at how all groups are shaping up.

And now, it is time to take a quick glance at the top games being played this week.

Belgium vs Wales

The Red Devils are currently ranked second in Group 4 of League A, and they need to win both of their matches to secure the top spot. Their first opponents in the break will be Wales, a team that could be relegated to League B in case they are not capable of earning at least one more point than Poland in the next seven days.

Croatia vs Denmark

The Danish team could secure the top spot in Group 1 with a victory over the Vatreni, who are currently ranked second in their lot. A win would be enough for the team led by Kasper Hjulmand, but a defeat in Croatian territory would force them to beat France in the final group game, something that is easier said than done. On the other hand, Croatia have a golden chance to take the top spot in the group, as they are set to finish their performance in the group against Austria, who are entangled with France in a battle to avoid relegation.

France vs Austria

Les Bleus are facing relegation right in the eye, and a loss here would condemn the defending UEFA Nations League holders and World Cup champions to League B. Austria seem like a proper victim for Didier Deschamps' men, but a team with talent in every corner will not be easy to defeat for Les Bleus, who have been involved in quite a few off-the-pitch problems, such as those including Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappé, who has been pictured as a "bad seed" for the team due to his rising status as a football star.

Poland vs Netherlands

The hosts are one of the teams trying to avoid relegation, but the main problem in hand for them has to be their next rival. The Netherlands are top of their group, and a win here would secure them a spot among the top four next year. Hence, Poland must be wary of their options in this game, as a loss or draw could leave them in quite a predicament for their final group clash, where it could be all or nothing against Wales.

Germany vs Hungary

The German side makes it to this match still unbeaten in Group 3, but three of those four games have ended in draws. A victory for Hansi Flick's crew could increase their chances of making it to the Final Four, but a loss or defeat would keep things tight until the final minute of the group with Italy and England still aiming to better their respective positions.

Italy vs England

It all comes down to a revenge setup between these teams, as Italy could relegate England to League B with a win here, but the Three Lions could claim some payback after their disappointing UEFA Euro final against the Azzurri in 2021. A draw between these teams and a loss by Germany could keep things wide open in the battle for relegation, but if Germany are capable of taking the win against Hungary, then this will be the match that will define the relegated team in this group.
