Just under a month remains in the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 season and the title race is still as close as ever. Ligue 1 - Matchday 34 overview
It's been a great week for Monaco, but the start a busy month has begun. Les Rouges-et-Blancs successfully survived a tough two-legged tie against Dortmund to book their spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League a few days ago. Next up for them will be an even sterner test against Juventus, who have the strongest defense of any team remaining in this season's Champions League. But before then, they meet PSG in the Coupe de France a few days after their clash with Olympique Lyonnais, which will take place on Sunday.
Lyon are also through to the semi-finals in European competition after surviving a very tough penalty shoot-out against Turkish powerhouse Besiktas. Les Gones will lock horns with Dutch powerhouse Ajax in May, and given that both them and Monaco are coming off grueling European campaigns, it will be interesting to see who has enough gas in the tank to pick up three points on Sunday.
PSG lurk just behind Monaco on goal difference, and Les Parisiens will be hoping that Leonardo Jardim's men stumble in their tough away fixture against Lyon. Unai Emery's side already have won one title, but they surely would swap that to be in the semi-finals of the Champions League like Monaco. PSG take on Montpellier in a must-win game for them, as they could overtake Monaco into top spot should they win on Saturday.
Nice travel to face Toulouse in a game Les Aiglons will be determined to win. They are four points behind the top two and will seek to try to stay as close to Monaco and PSG as possible, as they are not giving up hope at catching up in this season's enthralling title race.
