Preview

Liverpool take to the pitch for the first time since Jurgen Klopp shockingly announced his departure at the end of this season, with the Reds playing at Anfield this Sunday in the 4th round of the FA Cup. Standing in their way are Norwich City, a Championship outfit fighting for their lives to return to the Premier League.

Given the venue for this game, all eyes will be on Liverpool's highly-rated manager. Only a couple of days ago, the club released a bombshell video in which Jurgen Klopp announced to the fans that he will be stepping down as the manager at the end of this campaign.

The German dropped this bombshell on Friday morning but stated that he had informed the club of his decision back in November, citing fatigue as the main reason. This will bring his iconic nine-season spell in charge to an end this summer.

However, the brilliant tactician issued one last rallying cry, pleading with the fans to focus on the players and the team, not his upcoming departure, while calling for his players to create one more memorable achievement in his last hurrah.

The Reds are currently fighting on four fronts, including the FA Cup. Elsewhere, Van Dijk and Co. are at the top of the Premier League table, through to the Carabao Cup final, and are the favorites to win the UEFA Europa League.

None of this will matter, though, should the Merseyside giants stumble this weekend. Klopp's men are on a nine-game unbeaten run, and while they have lost twice in their last 24 fixtures, those two defeats came in the Europa League against a heavily-rotated Liverpool side.

Will the Premier League heavyweights put their Championship opponents to the knife at what should be a packed-out Anfield? This will be the worry for the Canaries as they aim to return to winning ways.

David Wagner's side enters this clash on the back of their 1-0 loss at home to Leeds, with Patrick Bamford scoring the only goal of the game in that Elland Road trip. This result brought an end to Norwich City's three-game winning run, a streak that included the very same FA Cup 3rd round win that set up a date with Liverpool.

Jonathan Rowe and Co. were unable to beat League One side Bristol Rovers when they locked horns at Carrow Road, drawing 1-1 and thus forcing a replay. Norwich emerged victorious in the replay despite an early bump, with Gabriel Sara, Adam Idah, and Kenny McLean scoring en route to a 3-1 triumph.

Nonetheless, the visitors' form leaves a lot to be desired, having won only four of their last 10 matches across all competitions. Can the Canaries pull off a shocking win at Anfield?

Team news

Liverpool: Andy Robertson returned to the bench in the midweek showdown with Fulham while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dominik Szoboszlai could also recover in time for this game. Norwich City: Danny Batth is absent for the visitors due to a hamstring issue. Josh Sargent and Jonathan Rowe are also sidelined, which is a huge blow for the visitors, but Grant Hanley is expected to feature.
