Liverpool will continue their title chase when they make a visit to the KC Stadium where they face Hull City in a Premier League encounter.

Hull City will host Liverpool in the Premier League on December 1, 2013.Preview: Reds looking for a big win against the Tigers

Brendan Rodger’s men have pulled off an unexpected start to the season and currently find themselves second in the league table just four points behind leaders Arsenal, a difference they will be hoping to narrow down on Sunday.

The Reds possess one of the most potent attacks in England’s top tier league and with both Suarez and Sturridge in the form of their lives, the Hull City defense will have to be at their very best to gain anything out of this match.

Liverpool come into this match at the back of a scintillating match with Everton, the Merseyside derby ended in a 3-3 draw and Liverpool were able to maintain their place in the Premier League table. However the Reds will be hoping for all three points when they face 13th placed Hull in order to strengthen their claims of a top four place this season. Having failed to land a Champions League place in the last four seasons, Liverpool are confident of securing a place in the illustrious tournament next season.

Luis Suarez will be vital for Liverpool to achieve their targets this season. The mercurial number seven since his return from suspension has scored or assisted in six out of the seven matches he has played in the league and with his nine goals the Uruguayan is just behind Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero in the scorers chart.

Liverpool will however have to do without Spanish full back Jose Enrique, who following his knee surgery has been ruled out till February. Even though Rodgers has the likes of Aly Cissokho and John Flanagan who can replace the former Newcastle man with aplomb, the 40 year old has insisted that he will be looking to bring in a left back during the winter transfer window.

"It is certainly something that – if Jose is going to be out for a long time – we would have to look at for sure," he said.

"We think Jose will be a few months. It is not a long-term one but will be the new year for sure.

"It is not ideal; you would prefer two in there to really be challenging. Jose is clearly one of the best left-backs in the league and to have him out is a blow."

Hull City on the other hand have been on an uninspiring run lately having won just once in their last five games. The Tigers lost to struggling Crystal Palace in their last outing courtesy of a solitary goal from Barry Bannan.

To make matters worse, the newly promoted side has a less than impressive record against their opponents on Sunday. Hull have never managed a victory over Liverpool in the 16 meetings between the two side and with the Tigers just four points adrift of the relegation zone, a loss could move them closer to the bottom of the table.

Steve Bruce will be hoping for his top scorer Robbie Brady to be fit in time for the important match. The Republic of Ireland international has scored thrice for the Tigers but might miss out because of a groin injury alongside Paul McShane who will continue to nurse his hamstring injury.  Sone Aluko on the other hand will definitely miss out after being ruled out till New Year with a calf injury.

Last time the two sides met marked the farewell of both Hull City and Rafa Benitez from the Premier League. Both sides had a disappointing 2009/2010 campaign and were hoping to finish on a high note however the match ended in a boring 0-0 draw.
