Paramount+’s exclusive coverage of the Argentine Primera Division begins on Friday, March 26, marking the start of the subscription streaming service’s in-depth coverage of Argentine and Brazilian football through 2024.

CBS Sports and Argentine Football Distribution (AFD), the international exclusive broadcasting and image rights agent for the Argentine professional soccer league, announced on Wednesday the details of a multi-platform agreement for Paramount+ to serve as the exclusive English-language home in the U.S. for Brazilian and Argentinian football competitions.

Beginning Friday, March 26, Paramount+ will stream every club competition match live each season through 2024, including all Copa de la Liga Profesional – Primera Division – and Liga Profesional de Futbol matches, the Super Copa Argentina and the match between the champions of the Liga Profesional de Futbol and Copa de la Liga Profesional. Also, the streaming service will stream all 423 remaining matches in 2021.

Paramount+ coverage of the remaining 2021 Argentine Primera Division kicks off this weekend and is headlined by a pair of marquee matchups, including Independiente vs. Boca Juniors and River Plate vs. Racing Club. The four clubs are rated the most influential and successful clubs in the history of Argentine club football.

River Plate will host Racing Club at the historic El Monumental in Buenos Aires on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. ET. Both sides find themselves just outside of the four playoff spots in Group A. However, the season is young after just six matchdays and they will be looking for three points to enter the top of the table. River thumped Racing 5-0 in the Supercopa Argentina on March 4.

Colombian forward Rafael Santos Borre is River's and the competition's top goalscorer with five goals. On the other hand, Racing's most outstanding player so far this season has been forward Enzo Copetti.

Independiente will house Boca Juniors at Estadio Libertadores de America in Avellaneda on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. The Red Devils enjoyed an undefeated start to their season until their away loss to Group A leaders Velez Sarsfield last weekend. Nonetheless, Independiente is in second place in Group B with 12 points and a goal differential of seven goals in favor.

Boca Juniors will look for a season turnaround on Sunday after a poor start in the 2021 campaign. The Blue and Gold have nine points after winning two games, drawing three and losing one. Boca will rely on the Colombian duo of Edwin Cardona and Frank Fabra to create goals. The two add up to eight assists so far in the campaign.
