Godoy Cruz abused Pablo Moran's Lobos at the Forest and have almost secured their presence in next year's Libertadores.
Is there anything Gimnasia can do to avoid the relegation fight in the next Clausura?. Having obtained only six points in the last nine matches, Pablo Morant's Lobos are left with a mountain to climb if they're truly determined to retain the category.

Gustavo Alfaro's Viaducto made things extremely difficult for San Lorenzo in the last 45 minutes, scoring the equalizer close to the hour mark before Claudio Mosca score the winning goal on injury time.

Another defeat for Ramon Diaz's Cuervos who are left with nothing to fight for in the next three matches.

The hosts dominated the first half playing excellent football, coming back from Nicolas Sanchez's early goal on the 22nd minute as young Antonio Rojano right after a corner kick.

Omar Asad's Tombas had trouble finding themselves at the Forest but as the minutes went by the visitors grew more and more confident.

David Ramirez was once again the leader of Godoy Cruz's attack and his efforts were finally rewarded as he shot violently from outside the box. The ball hit the cross bar and left Gaston Sessa with nothing to do as he gave Godoy Cruz the advantage once again.

The goal froze Gimnasia, and only five minutes later Abel Masuero score an own goal that killed Lobos' every hope of obtaining a decisive point for the relegation fight.

An outstanding victory for Godoy Cruz that might have dealt a fatal blow on Lobos' morale.

Arsenal suffered more than expected against Ramon Diaz's San Lorenzo but in the end the hosts claimed three decisive points to settle in the third position only five points below the top.

It's now been over five weeks since San Lorenzo lastly celebrated a victory. These figures become even more worrisome considering Ramon Diaz's Cuervos were regarded as a strong candidate to lift the Apertura title only a month ago.

The visitors knew their performance in this game would be decisive to decide what they'll be fighting for for the rest of the season and their determination earned them the opener as Gonzalo Rovira beat Cristian Campestrini's goal in the 37th minute without hesitating.

Arsenal manager Gustavo Alfaro reacted on time and introduced two decisive modifications on his squad to allow his players to have more control over the ball. Matias Alustiza and Claudio Mosca replaced Luciano Leguizamon and Adrian Gonzalez respectively.

The modifications paid off soon, and the Cuervos were forced to withdraw to their own half of the field as Arsenal attack kept the pressure growing minute after minute.

Arsenal top striker Mauro Obolo found the equalizer right after a free kick, just like Claudio Mosca score the winning goal on the 93rd minute of the game, when Matias Alustiza's free kick failed to cross San Lorenzo's wall.

Arsenal has yet to face leader Estudiantes before the end of the season and as long as they keep their momentum going they might become one of the top revelations in the tournament. The hosts exposed San Lorenzo's every weakness, leaving Ramon Diaz with a lot of work to do prior to his next game.

Quilmes celebrated a major victory in the south against All Boys. Leonardo Madelon's Cerveceros obtained a second consecutive victory at home and reach Boca's game next week in excellent form.

All Boys missed a perfect opportunity to join the top fight as they couldn't take advantage of Mauro Matos' opened in the 10th minute of the game. The leveller was full responsibility of All Boys' goalkeeper Nicolas Cambiasso, who gifted Juan Morales the ball in the 29th minute of the second half.

Five minutes later, Bernardo Romeo's header gave the advantage to the hosts, who claimed a decisive six-pointer from the bottom fight. After a disappointing debut, Quilmes is slowly finding itself in the Apertura, though there's a lot of work to do to abandon the 17th position with 13 points.

All Boys must be prepared to face the next three matches as finals as all the effort of the tournament could go to waste if their performance does not improve soon.

Gabriel Hauche and Claudio Bieler gave Miguel Angel Russo's Academia an important victory in Banfield and claimed the sixth position of the Apertura with 22 points. Julio Cesar Falcioni's Taladros fell to the 14th position, having obtained only one point in the last four matches.

Racing has not suffered a single defeat since they fell by the minimum difference against Independiente in Avellaneda's derby and the hosts are this victory was essential for Racing to becom a main candidate to occupy the last Libertadores' place.

Patricio Toranzo assisted Gabriel Hauche delightfully early on the first half to open the score but Marcelo Carrusca score the equalizer three minutes later after a brilliant individual maneuver from Ruben Ramirez.

Claudio Bieler gave Racing once again the advantage in the next minute as Martin Caceres eluded Banfield defense and assisted Taca Bieler alone inside the box.

Falcioni knew he needed to react fast and he sent Sebastian Romeo to take over Walter Ervitti's place, of disappointing performance. Racing relied on violence to stop Banfield's offensive attempts and the strategy worked out wonderfully.

When Banfield defender Victor Lopez was sent off at the beginning of the second half it was almost game over for the hosts. Giovanni Moreno allowed Racing to control the flow of the ball and the minutes went by slowly without much additional action.

A decisive victory for Racing and another huge blow for Banfield that's struggling to recovers its former glory.

Tito Pompei's Xeneizes failed to return home victorious from Rosario as Luis Rodriguez opened the score in the 40th minute of the second half for Newell's.

Roberto Sensini's Lepras secured an important victory after two consecutive defeats and have once again leapfrogged Racing in the fight for the last Libertadores place (that will belong to Independiente nevertheless if they lift this year's Sudamericana).

Boca was only a shadow of the team that defeated Arsenal last week in La Bombonera. Without Juan Roman Riquelme and Lucas Viatri, the Xeneizes could never create danger around Newell's area. Young Sergio Araujo could not maintain his level and substitute Pablo Mouche brought no answers to Boca's attack.

Marcelo Estigarribia and Mauro Formica asphixiated Boca midfielders and were finally rewarded in the last five minutes of the game, as Pulga Rodriguez beat Javier Garcia's goal with an exquisite shot.

Newell's is only three points below the third position while Boca struggles to abandon the lower half of the positions table.

Apertura leader Estudiantes suffered more than expected to claim the full scoring over Independiente's alternate squad. Gaston Fernandez score the winning goal in the 85th minute of the game and allowed the Pinchas to open a five-point gap from Velez Sarsfield, who must take on Tigre next Tuesday.

Young Juan Pablo Pereyra score the opener early on the 11th minute. Rodrigo Braña and Juan Sebastian Veron were the leaders of the midfield and they managed to nullify Independiente's drivers easily throughout the whole first half.

Estudiantes finished the game with 10 men as Enzo Perez was ejected minutes after the second goal. Independiente found the equalizer as soon as the second half started as young Nicolas Martinez scored a beautiful goal to keep Independiente's hopes alive.

Rojos' captain Carlos Matheu gifted Fernandez the ball in the last five minutes of the game and former Racing striker Gata Fernandez didn't hesitate on taking the three points.

The last two weeks will be decisive for Estudiantes to secure the title. Will they make it?

J J Lopez's Millonarios celebrated another victory at the Monumental over Omar De Felippe's Aurinegros, who missed a golden opportunity to shorten the gap to crawl off the relegation line. Paraguayan defender Adalberto Roman score the winning goal in the 31th minute of the first half with a powerful header.

River's goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo played a major role in the match, saving a perfectly placed ball in the last minute of the game that would have seriously undermined their confidence for the last two games of the tournament.

If Huracan does not obtain a single point against Lanus, River will escape from the risk zone for the first time in the tournament. Olimpo, on the other hand, is left with a mountain to climb for next Clausura if they want to retain the category in the next season.

A decisive six pointer for the hosts, that joined Racing in the 5th position of the table standings.

Former Huracan winger Paolo Goltz's early goal boosted the morale of Luis Zubeldia's Granas, who left Parque Patricios with the full scoring leaving Huracan below the relegation line.

Ezequiel Filipetto score the equalizer after a brilliant individual maneuver in the 25th minute but this never stopped the visitors from dominating the game. Gonzalo Castillejos gave 10-men Lanus the advantage in the last 10 minutes of the game, before Mario Regueiro was booked for the second time and sent off.

"This is a major victory for us, this is what we were looking for. We're now better than ever for the Libertadores' qualification after securing the game in such a difficult field as this" said Goltz after the victory.

The last three weeks will be decisive for Huracan not to struggle with the relegation fight in the next Clausura. Lanus jumps to 8th position with 24 points, only four below Arsenal, on the third position.

A major victory for Pedro Troglio's Argentinos who've claimed 17 of the last 24 possible points. Clausura leader humilliated Colon at the Diego Armando Maradona with three beautiful goals in the second half.

Nestor Ortigoza and Juan Mercier dominated the midfield but Sebastian Peratta's excellent form denied them the opener throughout the first 45 minutes. Damian Diaz and Esteban Fuertes were the most dangerous Sabaleros but they could never reach Argentinos' area with the needed clarity.

Argentinos' top scorer, young Franco Niell, is without a doubt one of the main revelations of this Apertura. The opener came as Niell connected a header in the 6th minute of the second half. Nicolas Blandi and Emilio Hernandez joined close to the hour mark to kill Fernando Gamboa's boys every hope.

Argentinos must now prepare to take on leader Estudiantes on Saturday while Colon hosts River on Sunday's evening.

Apertura top strikers Santiago Silva and Juan Manuel Martinez gave Ricardo Gareca's Fortineros an important victory in Liniers to keep up with Estudiantes' pace in the fight for the title. Having scored nine goals each, Velez's offensive firepower appears to be truly unchallenged in this year's fight.

Uruguayan striker Silva found the opener early in the first half with a powerful shot that let Velez control the flow of the ball with great success. Augusto Fernandez's and Maxi Moralez's partnership was once again decisive for Velez to build a bridge between the defense and the attack.

Tigre, on the other hand, struggled to break through Velez's midfield and Denis Stracqualursi was isolated on the attack. Caruso Lombardi's main driver Roman Martinez played far below the expected level, and nothing could be done to save the visitors from falling hard.

Juan Manuel Martinez widened the advantage on the hour mark after Martin Galmarini challenged him inside the box. Tigre was left with 10 men and Martinez didn't hesitate on scoring. Diego Castaño reduced the difference to a minimum on injury time but it was already too late.

Tigre receives Huracan next week in a decisive six pointer for the relegation fight while Velez travels to Mendoza to lock horns with Godoy Cruz.
