Proximus TV is a Digital TV service owned and operated by the Belgacom Group. It was launched during the summer of 2005. Proximus TV has been distributed via broadband internet services, which has allowed the IPTV service to increase its numbers of users, since Proximus TV is not geographically restricted like cable companies. In fact, recent stats by the company show that over 85% of the Belgian population owns or has owned the IPTV service.

Proximus TV’s business model has seen the service offering different thematic channel bundles to satisfy the needs of their users. Some of those themes have included free-to-air Belgian channels (both national and regional), free-to-air TV channels from other European countries, international TV channels, premium entertainment packages, kid-themed channels, sports channels, music and cultural channels, and adult channel packages.

Speaking about sports, Proximus TV has offered content from some of the top sports channels available in the country, such as Eleven Sports. Added to that, Proximus TV has also added extensive football coverage to its offer thanks to the packages known as Proximus 11 and Proximus 11+, which have featured leagues such as La Liga, the Belgian First Division, the Italian Serie A, and continental competitions such as the UEFA Champions League.

The availability of all channels will be subject to the package each user purchases. Added to that, the speed and quality of the feed will depend on the kind of internet connection each user has hired.
