Where to catch Juventus vs Atalanta and all MD14 games in Serie A

November 25, 2021 By Michelle Bonsu
Last round saw both Milan and Napoli suffer defeats, which has opened a window of opportunity for the chasing pack to close the gap.

Last round in Serie A saw not just one, but both of the current league leaders suffer their first losses of the campaign. Napoli were beaten 3-2 by reigning Scudetto champs Inter, while AC Milan ended up on the wrong end of a 3-2 result against Fiorentina. With both the Partenopei and the Rossoneri losing, it's definitely given some home to teams like Inter, who are now four points behind the pace-setters.

Here's all you need to know ahead of matchday 14.

Serie A standings heading into matchday 14

Here's how the table looks ahead of matchday 14.

Serie A games you won't want to miss on matchday 14

Juventus vs Atalanta: Juventus thought they'd turned a corner recently by posting back to back wins in Serie A, but were rumbled as they lost 4-0 to Chelsea in their midweek Champions League tie. That's the worst defeat for the Bianconeri in that competition, and although they've pretty much already qualified for the round of 16, it still comes as a huge blow for Massimiliano Allegri's side, who had enjoyed a very strong Champions League campaign so far.

Now, they'll have to turn their attention towards welcoming Atalanta, who've been punching well above their weight for the past few seasons and will be keen on making sure they can maintain their grip on fourth spot as they chase Champions League football for yet another term. Injuries have started to pile up for Juventus at the wrong time, making La Dea's visit potentially more tricky than the Bianconeri faithful would like.

Venezia vs Inter: Fresh off becoming the first side in Serie A to beat Napoli, Inter will travel to take on newly promoted Venezia. On paper at least, this should be a straightforward three points for the Nerazzurri, but the hosts have discovered some form lately and come into this tie having won back to back matches. Inter will come into this tie having earned a well-deserved 2-0 win over Eastern European outfit Shaktar and in doing so, have now secured their place in the round of 16 alongside group leaders Real Madrid.

To date, the Nerazzurri have only lost just once this season, and with both Milan and Napoli slipping up, they'll look to try to close the gap between themselves and the league leaders, while keeping a dogged Atalanta side at bay.

AC Milan vs Sassuolo: The Rossoneri got revenge on Atletico Madrid for their 2-1 loss on matchday two in this season's Champions League, thus giving them a slim hope of sneaking into the round of 16. Given that they're just a point behind Porto, who've picked up five points, Milan could earn a runners-up berth should they manage to beat Liverpool on the final matchday. For now, though, Stefano Pioli's side will be firmly focused on avoiding another slip-up when Sassuolo arrive at the Stadio San Siro.

The Neroverdi have proven to be a real pesky opponent for Italy's bigger sides since bursting onto the scene in 2013. Although they're not having a great season, and currently sit in 13th spot with just one point from their last three games, Sassuolo are a team that Milan certainly won't be taking too lightly.

Roma vs Torino: Roma come into this tie having posted back to back wins in their last two games across all comps. That includes a 2-0 win over Genoa, thanks to a brace from teenager striker Felix Afena-Gyan, plus a very comfortable 4-0 rout over a vastly inferior Zorya side in their midweek Europa Conference League match.

The question is, will Jose Mourinho's side be able to use this to their advantage when they welcome Torino? The Granata have alternated between a win and a loss from their last five games, but despite their inconsistency, they could cause problems for a Roma side who have yet to still fully find their footing.

Napoli vs Lazio: Maurizio Sarri's reunion with Juventus didn't go as planned, as a brace from defender Leonardo Bonucci was enough to give the Bianconeri all three points at the Stadio Olimpico. Now, Sarri will have to face another of his former teams: Napoli. The Partenopei come into this match having lost their first Serie A match, as they were beaten 3-2 by Inter last weekend.

Meanwhile, Luciano Spalletti's side were also very unfortunate to lose key striker Victor Osimhen to a nasty facial injury, which meant they had to take on Russian outfit Spartak Moscow without him plus key striker Lorenzo Insigne. They'll need to regroup fast, as Lazio have now reportedly recovered key players Ciro Immobile and Pedro, both of whom were on the scoresheet as the Aquile earned a resounding 3-0 win over another Russian outfit, Lokomotiv Moscow in their midweek Europa League tie.
