Markus Babel pays a second trip to Bavaria to his former club and perhaps the one he dreams to coach one day.
Markus Babel’s desire to become the head-coach of Germany’s biggest club one-day (yes, they are still Germany’s biggest club) is no secret. However, he rarely manages to impress on his trips to Bavaria. His last trip there ended in disaster. His former club, Hertha was taught a lesson in football that day.

If there was any time that Babel could boost his CV for perhaps this very job, this is it. Bayern’s current run of poor form is seemingly endless with each away display poorer than the former. The home displays have generally been good. Bayern has won every home game by a 2-0 margin in 2012.

Bayern needs a leader currently on and off the pitch. Seemingly their leader is on his way to at-least rejoining the squad. Jupp Heynckes hopes to name Bastian Schweinsteiger in the match-day squad for the upcoming fixture against Hoffenheim. He will definitely not start but expect him to play some role in the match even if it is off the pitch.

Daniel Van Buyten and Breno are both definitely out of it. Hoffenheim drew 0-0 with Bayern during Bayern’s superb run of form earlier in the season. While one might think that the hero on the day was Hoffenheim’s Tom Starke, it was actually his opposite number who saved the day- Manuel Neuer.

Bayern is seemingly the only team which can legitimately challenge Dortmund’s supremacy but they must solve their own problems at first. While the home wins keep coming, the away wins hardly ever come. The next two fixtures for Bayern in all competitions are at home- and thus, this is the time that the mood in the camp can change rapidly.

In other games in the Bundesliga this week, sixth takes on seventh as Bremen battles Hanover. The two are separated by just a point. Both teams are perhaps gunning for the final Europa League spot as the top five places are seemingly sealed- unless Leverkusen once again suffers a dip.

If Bayer 04 does lose form again, it won’t be surprising. They shamed the Bundesliga as they were crushed by Barcelona in what seemed to be nothing more than a training match for the Spaniards in what should have been a good contest under the floodlights in Europe’s premier club competition on Wednesday.

They take on Wolfsburg, a team eleventh in the table, twelve points behind them. Felix Magath’s former side Schalke will be playing HSV. HSV’s ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ nature really keeps fans guessing about how they will perform in a particular match. Schalke has many injury woes to deal with as well as an unlucky loss in Netherlands to Twente.

The holders and Schalke’s bitter rivals Dortmund meanwhile has a relatively easy task in the form of Augsburg. No game can be labeled as an easy one in the Bundesliga- this however does not apply to Dortmund who are currently easily ‘swatting’ away opponents.

So, will Babel get one over his former club in Bavaria? We will find out tomorrow in what should be an entertaining contest.
