Top six games to watch this weekend

The North London and Merseyside derbies feature in top six matches on TV for December 1-2, 2018 weekend

November 30, 2018 By Ali M.
But it doesn't stop with these two Premier League derbies, as Fiorentina vs Juventus, Real Madrid vs Valencia, Barcelona vs Villarreal, and Roma vs Inter Milan also comprise our list.

Top six games to watch this weekend

Fiorentina vs Juventus

Catch this game at 12:00 ET/17:00 GMT on ESPN+ and Rai Italia America in the USA; Eleven Sports 2 UK in the United Kingdom; Rai Italia America, DAZN, and TLN in Canada; beIN Sports, Rai Italia Australia, and Kayo Sports in Australia; and Sky Italia in Italy.

13 games into the new season and Juventus is yet to lose a single game in Serie A, a 1-1 draw with Genoa being the only time they dropped points. On Saturday, that run will be put to test once more ahead of an exciting weekend in Italy and Europe as well. Fiorentina will give it their all to bring down Allegri's men, but it will take an impeccable performance to do so.

Fiorentina vs Juventus is the first of our top six games to watch this weekend

Real Madrid vs Valencia

Kick-off for this tie is at 14:45 ET/19:45 GMT on beIN Sports in the USA; Eleven Sports in the UK; beIN Sports and DAZN in Canada; Kayo Sports and beIN Sports in Australia; and Movistar in Spain.

Can Real Madrid bounce back from last weekend's Spanish Primera Division defeat? That's the question on everyone's mind, as the 3-0 loss to Eibar hasn't been forgotten despite their Champions League triumph over Roma. Unfortunately, their next game will be a tricky test at home to Valencia. The Blanquinegros, having been eliminated from the Champions League on Tuesday, will be out to salvage some pride with a Bernabeu win, making this an interesting tie.

Arsenal vs Spurs

Watch this game at 9:05 ET/14:05 GMT on SiriusXM FC, Telemundo, and NBC Sports in the USA; Sky Sports in the UK; Sportsnet in Canada; and Optus Sport in Australia.

This north London affair is one of two exciting derbies scheduled for Sunday in the Premier League. Arsenal and Tottenham will reignite their rivalry, as bragging rights will be up for grabs once more. For the Gunners, there's an extra incentive for winning as they could leapfrog Spurs into third given Chelsea fails to win on Saturday.

Arsenal has been a tough side to beat recently

Bragging rights up for grabs once more

Pochettino's men, having recently beaten Chelsea in emphatic fashion in the English top-flight, won't let this happen without a win. Unfortunately, Spurs could be without several key players for Sunday's trip. Can they cope? Tune in to find out.

A number of key players will miss Tottenham's trip to the Emirates

Liverpool vs Everton

This game is scheduled for 11:15 ET/16:15 GMT on SiriusXM FC, Telemundo, and NBC Sports in the USA; Sky Sports and BBC Radio 5 Live in the UK; TSN in Canada; and Optus Sport in Australia.

For Liverpool, the task is simple: maintain the unbeaten run and return to winning ways after their European defeat at PSG. The stats are in the Reds favor, as they remain unbeaten in this clash since October 2010 and are yet to lose in the English top-flight this season. Regardless, Klopp expects a tough game on Sunday, and rightly so.

Klopp is not underestimating his opposition

For Everton, their aim will be to end their long wait for a win. This will be Marco Silva's first trip to Anfield since taking over the Toffees and will be aiming to become the first manager to win in his first Merseyside Derby trip to Liverpool.

A record is at stake for Marco Silva

With that in mind, can we expect an unforgettable game like this six-goal thriller from 2013?

Barcelona vs Villarreal

This match will begin at 12:30 ET/17:30 GMT and will be aired on Radio Barca and beIN Sports in the USA; Eleven Sports in the UK; DAZN, beIN Sports, and Radio Barca in Canada; Kayo Sports, Radio Barca, and beIN Sports in Australia; and Movistar+ and beIN Sports in Spain.

Barcelona no longer leads the standings in La Liga, having been leapfrogged by Sevilla after their 1-1 draw at Atletico. Next up, they will welcome Villarreal to the Camp Nou hoping to avoid a debacle at home similar to their 4-3 loss to Real Betis. Don't miss this game, as Messi goes in search of his first Spanish Primera Division win since returning from injury.

Just days after being named Champions League Player of the Week, Messi will lead Barcelona against Villarreal

Roma vs Internazionale

This fixture kicks off at 14:30 ET/19:30 GMT on ESPN and Rai Italia America in the USA; Eleven Sports 2 UK; DAZN, Rai Italia America, and TLN in Canada; Kayo Sports, Rai Italia Australia, and beIN Sports in Australia; and Roma TV and Sky Italia in Italy. Roma, in seventh with 19 points, is after a win so as to move closer to the top four. For Inter Milan, they are aiming to put as much distance between themselves and fourth-placed Lazio while attempting to usurp Napoli in second.

That Blanco screamer in the MSL Western Conference final

On Thursday, Kansas City and Portland Timbers locked horns in the second leg of the MLS Western Conference final. The Timbers went on to win the game 3-2, with the highlight of that victory being Sebastian Blanco's 25-year golazo which turned the tide in his team's favor.

Copa Libertadores venue decided but Boca is unhappy

It was announced that the second leg of the Copa Libertadores final between Boca Juniors and River Plate would be played in Madrid after violence prohibited it from being played in the latter team's home ground. However, Boca appealed this decision, reportedly writing a letter to CONMEBOL arguing that their opponent should be punished with a 2-0 loss which would hand them the title.

What to look forward to next week?

Action in the Premier League will continue on Tuesday, with Man City taking on Watford in a midweek clash. However, the standout game is on Wednesday, with Arsenal traveling to Old Trafford to face Man United.
