Antonio Conte is doing extremely well at Chelsea. A bumpy beginning saw the Italian lose to Liverpool and Arsenal, but he has since turned the club around and led them to the top of the table.
The Blues are currently on a 13-game winning streak, one shy of an English Premier League record. The only thing that stands between them and that feat is Wednesday’s crucial trip to Tottenham.
The former Juventus boss has thus been receiving praise from pundits, peers, and his own players. The biggest so far has now come from Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo.
According to the Chelsea official, Conte has the opportunity to stay at Stamford Bridge forever. Forever usually means until a bust-up with Roman Abramovich or the trigger-happy Russian decides to bring in a new manager.
However, Emenalo insists that Conte has it within him to go the extra mile with the London giants. He said (as per the Evening Standard):
“Everyone can see he is doing an absolutely sensational job, so I am not surprised that the fans and everybody loves him. We love him too. Personally, I think there’s an opportunity for him to stay forever.”
Conte also discussed the issue of winning the league crown in his debut season, something that is now likely. Chelsea sit five points ahead of their nearest rivals with a game to hand.
