After a disappointing start for Mykhaylo Fomenko’s men, losing their opening match against 2014 World Cup winners Germany, Ukraine will be hoping to secure their first win in this elite summer competition. The Yellow-Blues will go head-to-head with Northern Ireland at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais, as they will aim to bag three points in order to survive the group stage.
Meanwhile, Northern Ireland, who also failed to win in their first appearance at a European Championship on Sunday, will be seeking to make their country proud with a victory against the Eastern European side.
Speaking at the post-match press conference after their 1-0 loss to Poland, Irish defender Jonny Evans said,
“Northern Ireland’s Euro tie against Ukraine is make or break. We know we can’t lose, especially as we face Germany in last group game. We rushed things a bit against Poland, so we might try different things.”
Michael O'Neill’s men delivered strong performances in the qualifying stage, topping the group with 21 points. They will be looking to brush off their loss against Lewandowski and Co. and come out victorious on Thursday.

Northern Ireland is heading into their second Euro 2016 match with no injury concerns. The only player that missed the trip to France was attacking midfielder Chris Brunt after he suffered a knee injury back in January.
