Mediacorp has secured both free-to-air and pay-TV rights in Singapore to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Under this deal, Singaporeans are able to watch more free-to-air World Cup games than during the Qatar 2022 edition. The state-owned media conglomerate will also broadcast the historic 48-team tournament in its entirety across its linear television channel and streaming service.

This means football fans in Singapore can watch all 104 games from the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico live on Mediacorp’s Channel 5 and the mewatch streaming service, including the tournament’s opening ceremony.

A notable feature of Mediacorp’s World Cup coverage is the significant expansion of free-to-air (FTA) matches. While only nine matches were available for free during Qatar 2022, Mediacorp has announced it will broadcast 28 matches free-to-air for the FIFA World Cup 2026 edition, a threefold increase.

Under this arrangement, Mediacorp will air the World Cup opening match between Mexico and South Africa on June 11, 23 group-stage matches, the two semi-finals, the third-place play-off, and the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium—all available for free on its linear channel, Channel 5, and on the mewatch streaming service without requiring an account or login credentials.

However, to watch or stream the entire FIFA World Cup in Singapore, a paid subscription to Mediacorp’s mewatch service or its carriage partner platforms—likely including local telcos such as Singtel and StarHub—is necessary.
In addition to live matches, Mediacorp offers 24/7 World Cup content via FIFA+, a free channel on mewatch. The channel features full-length classic matches, curated highlights, vignettes, “Best of” compilations, documentaries, and more.

Singaporeans can stream the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the mewatch app or website. The mewatch app is available for download on iOS, Android, and HUAWEI mobile devices, as well as on smart TVs and Apple TV, with support for Chromecast.
