Futbol de Primera Radio history, coverage, features
Fútbol de Primera, or FDP Radio, is a Spanish-language radio network in the USA dedicated to soccer. It was first launched in 1989 by Alejandro Gutman and is America’s longest-running Hispanic soccer radio channel.
Over the years, it has grown to cover some of soccer’s biggest competitions. It has been an exclusive broadcaster of Mexican National Team matches, and has also successfully secured Spanish-language rights to provide live commentary for various editions of the CONMEBOL Copa America and CONCACAF Gold Cup. Other competitions and soccer events that have made it on the radio network include the FIFA Confederations Cup and FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
More notably, FDP Radio has served numerous times as the exclusive Spanish-language radio station in the USA for the FIFA World Cup finals. This includes 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 World Cup editions.
Fútbol de Primera Radio works with over a hundred affiliated stations to extend its reach within the American Hispanic community. It is also available to listen live on its official website and on the official FDP Radio mobile app for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.
