RAI 2 History, Coverage, Features
RAI 2, formerly known as Rai Due, is a generalist terrestrial channel in Italy operated by RAI. It was launched in November 1961 under the name Secondo Programma and it broadcasts in standard definition (576i). A high definition version of the channel, known as Rai 2 HD, was launched in October 2013 and broadcasts in 1080i. Rai 2 airs programs for children, reality shows, sports, and TV series.
Rai 2 is available digitally, and also via cable, satellite, IPTV and online via RAI’s official OTT service. Other European countries in which Rai 2 may be accessible, other than Italy, include Belgium, France, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland.
