About
Arena Sport 5 Serbia History, Coverage, Features
Arena Sport is a pay-tv sports network, which is owned and operated by Telekom Srbija, or Mts. The network was launched on August 27, 2010 in Serbia, adding localized content for other neighbor nations such as Slovenia since September 2010. It is one of the most popular sports channels in the country due to its content and variety of disciplines available to watch.
Since its launch, Arena Sport has included a variety of sports events to increase its viewership, mainly thanks to the number of channels available in Serbia, which has expanded over the years. Some of the sports covered on this channel have included football, basketball, handball, hockey, rugby, baseball, motorsports, volleyball, tennis, and more. While domestic competitions have found their way into the channel’s grid, international tournaments and leagues from other countries have been favored in the channel’s programming as time has gone by.
Arena Sport 5 in Serbia has been used as an overflow channel to cover some of the top competitions to which the network has broadcasting rights. The channel has also been used to broadcast highlights, magazine shows, sports news shows, movies and sports documentaries.
Arena Sport 5 was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a HD feed was launched during the second half of the 2010s. With the launch of the High-Definition option, users who do not have access to HD technology may tune in on the channel via a downscaled version of the HD feed.
