Rooney has been tipped to find the target in a predicted victory for England over Bulgaria as the UEFA Euro 2012 qualifiers resume on Friday.
Wayne Rooney has been in firing form at club level. He began the season well with a goal against West Bromwich Albion on the first-match of the English Premier League.

Recently, he hit a hat-trick in the Red Devils’ 8-2 roasting of Arsenal. In total, Wayne Rooney has scored 5 goals in 4 games. Fabio Capello is delighted by the English man’s current performance as he told reporters on Thursday:

“Goals are a fantastic medicine for a forward. Now is a good moment for him. The spirit of Manchester United is different. Those young players have put something different on the pitch.”

England have some job to do in order to secure the first spot in Group G en route to automatic qualification. The Three Lions are locked with Montenegro on 11 points.

They however lead the table on goal difference whereas Bulgaria are 4th with 5 points from 5 games. Bulgaria, who defeated Wales 1-0 last year, are potential dangerous underdogs according to Coach Fabio Capello.

“I have seen two Bulgaria games, and against Switzerland and Montenegro they played really well. They are very dangerous on the counter-attack,” said the Italian.

“We had a meeting yesterday and I told all the players to focus on our opponents, not look at the world rankings.”

England are 4th in the FIFA World Rankings. They moved 2 places up.
