La Liga’s distribution of TV-profits caused an appalled and rather angered reaction of more than one team in the Spanish league.

In fact, approximately more than 48% of the TV-money is distributed to Barcelona and Real Madrid, while the remaining 52% is shared amongst the remaining 18 teams.

Atletico Madrid and Valencia, with €42M each, earn a higher share than the other 16 teams, but compared to the top 2 teams’ €140M, that does not seem much.

Comparatively, the same distribution in the English Premier League is considerably more even. In fact, between Manchester United, the team earning the most in TV-money, and Queens Park Rangers, the team earning the least, there are only a little over €20M.
