Today’s main talking point in the football world has been a more than likely transfer that would see teammates Diego Costa and Felipe Luis from Atletico Madrid depart to join Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
Some sources talk about an already reached agreement, at least with regards to the Spanish striker for approximately €40 million. The move should not come as a surprise as Simeone has been “flirting” with Chelsea over ex-Atleti player Fernando Torres. In addition, the Special One has made it no secret that he would like to see Costa join the London club.

The transfer would more than triple the wages of Costa, earning around £50,000 per week at the Vicente Calderon. The Blues would propose the young talent a five-year contract worth £150,000 a week. Because the total cost for Costa's services would amount to approximately £16M annually (£9.6m wages plus the £6.4M transfer fee), this operation seems to be manageable for a team like Chelsea both strategically and financially.
