Manchester United, a team that has never finished lower than the 3rd place since the Premier League was created, have recently sacked Moyes and are looking to begin a new chapter after a disappointing season that sees them firmly in 7th place.

A reported figure of £200M will be available for Man United’s rebuilding program, which started sooner than the expected summer transfer window. In fact, the Red Devils’ staff is already making aggressive moves on the market.

According to reports, Manchester United are looking to sign PSG’s super-striker, Edinson Cavani. Although the Uruguayan gave strong signals of interest, when his brother hired a new agent to negotiate a transfer to Old Trafford, this operation may prove to be tricky.

Cavani at Manchester United?

In fact, if Cavani were to join Manchester United, questions would arise as to the future of the team’s many other strikers. Although it appears that Chicharito may be on his way to Rome, the Red Devils still have Welbeck, Rooney, and Robin Van Persie to account for.

Aside Cavani, both Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana from Southampton are on the 2012/13 EPL champions’ target-list. The first, 18 years of age, is supposed to be Evra’s replacement and will cost approximately £30M. Consequently, Evra will probably leave the English club to find more room elsewhere, most likely in the Serie A. The latter, a 25-years-old promising English attacking midfielder should cost about £25M.

The upcoming transfer window this summer will be important for many teams, but it will definitely be crucial for Manchester United, still looking for a permanent manager.
