The Catalans are reportedly monitoring the situation of the full-back as they weigh up the possibility of making a swoop.

Tottenham Hotspur full-back Sergio Reguilon has reportedly caught the attention of Barcelona, a new report has revealed. The interest is said to have emerged after the representatives of the 25-year-old full-back offered him to the Catalans as he eyes a return to Spain this summer.

Regulion joined Spurs from Real Madrid for $42.2M in the summer of 2020, with a buy-back clause of $44M put in place should Los Blancos decide to re-sign him. However, the Spanish full-back has struggled to impress and his inconsistent has seen him in and out of the North London club's regular side. Following the appointment of Antonio Conte, Regulion has been enjoying multiple spells on the bench but has seen some action in recent weeks due to an injury to the preferred Ryan Sessegnon.

On Friday, Spanish journalist Gerard Romero of SPORT revealed that the player could be given a way out of his misery with a potential return to his homeland seemingly brewing. According to his report, Barcelona are actively looking for the successor of 33-year-old left-back Jordi Alba who has had little to no competition at the position. Fabrizio Romano also reiterated the claim by Romero, stating that the left-back is on Barca's radar.

At the moment, Valencia's Jose Gaya is said to be the first choice of Barca but there are indications that the deal might not materialise as he is in favour of renewing his contract with Los Che. As a result, Reguilion is seen as a feasible alternative and Xavi side could go all-out and secure a deal despite Real Madrid's buy-back clause.
