New Zealand vs. Czech Republic Preview

The Football Ferns and the Czech Republic are looking to end the tournament in winning ways, given that neither side captured three points in their opening two games. New Zealand fell to Iceland in the tournament opener and was thrashed by the USA 5-0 in Matchday 2. On the other hand, the Czech Republic drew against the hosts on opening day, but their Cinderella story came down crashing after losing to Iceland 2-1 the next game.

The two sides came into the tournament as the lowest-ranked nations and will look to best one another in their last game.

USA vs. Iceland Preview

The USA must beat Iceland to claim their fifth SheBelieves Cup title. Winning the tournament would be a great feat for head coach Vlatko Andonovski, who is in the process of revitalizing the USWNT with new faces like Alana Cook, Andi Sullivan, Ashley Hatch, Ashley Sanchez, Catarina Macario, Casey Murphy, Emily Fox, Jaelin Howell, Sophia Smith and Trinity Rodman.

The first game against the Czech Republic saw the U.S. create enough chances to win comfortably, but it ended in a goalless draw. With the help of three own goals, the Americans defeated New Zealand 5-0 in Matchday 2. Now, the USWNT will look to close out the tournament with a win over Iceland that would show signs of progress.

As for Iceland, they arrive at the final game of the 2022 SheBelieves Cup with back-to-back wins against the Czech Republic and New Zealand. Head coach Thorsteinn Halldorsson has a couple of weapons in her arsenal that has helped his side to the top of the group in 20-year-old striker Sveindis Jane Jonsdottir and midfielders Dagny Brynjarsdottir and Gunnhildur Yrsa Jonsdottir.

Iceland needs a draw to be crowned SheBelieves Cup champions in their first time as a participating nation. Despite being a friendly tournament, an Icelandic tournament win over the USWNT would shock the world.
