UEFA EURO 2012 Final is the most-watched EURO match ever on Canadian television and reaches 6.6 million unique viewers on TSN and RDS. More than twice as many viewers watched EURO 2012 tournament compared to EURO 2008. 17.5 million Canadians watched some or part of UEFA EURO 2012 on Bell Media networks.
Toronto, ON (July 3, 2012) – As jubilation continues to reign in Spain, preliminary overnight data from BBM Canada confirms that a record average audience of 3.04 million viewers watched live coverage of the UEFA EURO 2012 Final on TSN and RDS – making this year’s Spain-Italy championship game the most-watched EURO match ever on Canadian television*.

With 2.57 million viewers watching on TSN and 469,000 on RDS, the total average audience for the EURO 2012 Final is more than twice the average audience recorded for the EURO 2008 Final(1.3 million on TSN and RDS).

Audience levels for the EURO 2012 Final broadcast peaked at 3.6 million viewers on TSN and RDS as Spain went on to defeat Italy 4-0 and become the first team ever to repeat as European champion.

Overall, 6.6 million unique viewers watched some or all of the EURO 2012 Final on TSN and RDS.

Through the entire tournament, EURO 2012 attracted an average of 862,000 viewers on TSN, TSN2, CTV, RDS and RDS2. This is more than two times the average audience for EURO 2008 (386,000 on TSN, Sportsnet and RDS). In total, 17.5 million unique viewers tuned in to some or part of the tournament on the five Bell Media networks.
