A dominant Napoli stunned hot favourites Juventus to win the Coppa Italia for the fourth time in their history and the first since 1987 at the Stadio Olimpico.
Napoli defeated Serie A champions Juventus 2-0 in the final of the Coppa Italia at Rome's Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.

Walter Mazzarri's side came into the game as the clear underdogs, but they didn't let their tag bother them and won the game courtesy of second half strikes from Edinson Cavani and Marek Hamsik.

The game was supposed to mark Alessandro Del Piero's farewell game for Juventus in style, but what initially appeared to be an almost invincible side, after having recently won the Scudetto without losing a single game, were overwhelmed by the hard-working Neapolitans.

Napoli took a surprise lead in the 63rd minute when Uruguayan striker Cavani fired home a penalty kick, after fellow South American Ezequiel Lavezzi had been brought down in the area by Juventus goalkeeper Marco Storari.

Del Piero received a standing ovation from the Bianconeri faithful when Conte decided to replace him with Mirko Vucinic in the 68th minute, as the Juve legend put an end to an illustrious career with the Italian giants.

The move seemed to inspire Juventus, as they looked much more dangerous in the attacking third, and came close to drawing the game level first through Arturo Vidal and then through Simone Pepe.

However, Slovakian midfielder Marek Hamsik put the result well beyond Juve's reach seven minutes from full-time, when he was sent through on goal by Goran Pandev and beat Storari with a clinical finish.

Juventus had no answer to Napoli's free-flowing soccer, and saw Fabio Quagliarella receive his marching orders in stoppage time for purposely elbowing Salvatore Aronica.

With the win, Napoli lifted the Coppa Italia for the fourth time and the first since 1987.
