A torrid afternoon at Bolton ended in a 0-0 draw for Arsenal. According to Arsene Wenger every match is now a ‘cup final’.
Bolton was placed seventeenth in the table and the match was a perfect opportunity for Arsenal to finally win a game. Arsenal looked extremely poor throughout the match. Their attacks lacked the bite required to score goals. The result left Arsenal in seventh, five points behind fourth placed Chelsea.

Arsenal next takes on another team fighting for survival. Blackburn sits eighteenth in the table and has collected only 18 points this season. Arsenal, however, struggles against teams that are fighting for relegation. Arsenal drops too many points against sides such as Blackburn- sides that take a very physical approach to the game unlike Wenger’s side.

The team that Wenger put out to face Bolton was a classy side. Bacary Sagna, one of Arsenal’s most consistent performers, was also in the side. The same side will perhaps take on Blackburn. Christopher Samba, a regular for the side will not be part of the Rovers side that takes on Arsenal.

Samba is not injured nor suspended- in fact, he trained properly this week. He wanted a transfer out of the club but his club did not allow him to move. Samba will not feature in protest of his club’s decision. This only bodes well for Arsenal- Samba has been a force in both penalty areas in matches against Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Sagna recently has been talking about his horrific injury. According to him, he has learnt to be a fan while being on the sidelines. This is what he said:

“I’ve been supporting my team passionately - I remember the Chelsea away game, it was just crazy and I was desperate to be celebrating with my team-mates at the end.”

He was amazed by the reception he was given at Aston Villa. He did not expect the Arsenal fans to welcome him so warmly and give him a standing ovation. Unfortunately, his team-mates at this moment cannot expect this from the fans considering their recent performances in the league.

So, who do you think will win the game? This is what I think will happen:

Arsenal 1-1 Blackburn
