Copa America playoffs begin with Peru taking on Paraguay at Estadio Olimpico Pedro Ludovico in Goiania, Brazil, on Friday at 5 p.m. ET.

Two of 2021 Copa America's best teams meet in the first game of the quarterfinals stage. The game should be an entertaining way to wait for the big game of the night between Brazil and Chile at 8 p.m. ET.

On one hand, Peru arrives at this stage of the competition as Group B's biggest surprise, finishing above Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. La Blanquirroja fell hard against Brazil in a 4-0 loss. However, they accumulated seven points from their other three games – two wins against Colombia and Venezuela, one draw against Ecuador.

On the other hand, Paraguay finished third in Group A behind Argentina and Uruguay. La Albirroja amassed six points, falling to the two teams that finished above them in the group and defeating Chile and Bolivia.

Los Guaranies lead the all-time record between the two sides 23-14-16, according to 11v11.com. However, Los Incas have not lost against Paraguay since November 2014. Moreover, Peru six of the last seven games between the two sides.

Andre Carrillo – Peru

Winger Andre Carrillo was monumental for La Blanquirroja against Ecuador and Venezuela. The 30-year-old was responsible for Peru's equalizer against La Tricolor on Matchday 4. Days later, Al Hilal's carried his goalscoring form into a rigid game against La Vinotinto, scoring the game-winning goal early in the second half.

Angel Romero – Paraguay

Paraguay will hope for winger Angel Romero to replicate his performance against Bolivia in Matchday 2 on Friday evening. The 28-year-old bagged two goals against La Verde, including the game-winner, but failed to get involved in scoring after that game. Romero will have to fill in Almiron's void and bring Paraguay's front line to life.
