Serie A Round-up: Matchday 36

Serie A Round-up: Juventus heading for Europa League after Milan defeat, Atalanta and Napoli win big

May 10, 2021 By Emmanuel K. Budu-Annor
The former champions risk missing out on a Champions League place for next season while their rivals made significant strides in their quest for a place in Europe.

Over the weekend, the coronation of Inter Milan as the new kings of the Serie A was confirmed with the chmapions receiving a guard of honor from Claudio Ranieri's Sampdoria. The will go on to secure an emphatic 4-1 victory to further highlight their dominance in what has been a remarkable season under Antonio Conte.

Elsewhere, the battle for a top-four place took a different turn and for Juventus, the prospect of featuring in next season's UEFA Champions League becomes narrower with each passing matchday. On Sunday, the Bianconeri had their chances dented following a 3-0 humiliation against rivals AC Milan at the Allianz Stadium. Their fate was not helped by the fact that both Napoli and Atalanta had won their respective games against Spezia and Parma to safeguard their spot.
