Sergio Batista is not ready to listen to calls from critics ahead of the Colombia match despite the fact that Argentina didn't impress on match-day 1.
Sergio Batista is in danger of mounting Argentina’s entire wall of supporters against him. Likewise, the Albiceleste boss could transform into a hero as the country is aiming to end its 18-year major title drought.

The majority of football fans and pundits were apparently not impressed by Argentina’s display against Bolivia on Friday night. Batista’s plan to build the team around Messi didn’t quite work as the hosts were in serious danger of suffering a giant killing by the FIFA Ranking’s 93rd team Bolivia.

Had super-sub Aguero not scored, Argentina would have been under even more pressure. In the same way, better defending would have prevented Bolivia’s Rojas from finding an “accidental” goal as Zanetti described it.

Anyways, what happened during the 2011 Copa America’s opening encounter cannot be changed and according to Sergio Batista, the Argentine team doesn’t need to change anything to be successful against Colombia either.

“Certainly, the expectations that we were given were not met. But I am pleased with the effort of the team,” stated Batista during the post-match press conference.

“There are things we must improve and we know it. However, the tactical plan will not change. Our problem was in losing the ball and Bolivia played well.

“This [1-1] result does not change anything and I insist that we will continue playing the same way tactically. It’s just that there are things we have to improve.”
