Robinho has been in the spotlight on several occasions in the past for his actions off the field. Being known to be a figure with the ineligibility to serve as a model for rising stars, the forward made sure his name was not ruined on the field overtime.

Starting his career under the aspect of an extremely promising player, Robinho kept striving for fame and success, and somehow, his hard work paid off. The Scudetto winner, who has had spells in the Brasileiro Serie A, La Liga, as well as in the Barclays Premier League, also has good memories associated to his contributions in the Brazilian national team.

Lowlights and Highlights

Robinho certainly has been through difficult moments with Brazil, but he can still regard his years so far with the Canarinho as positive. Below, we look at his highlights and lowlights under his country’s jersey.

Robinho did not enjoy the 2010 World Cup as Brazil were miserably eliminated in the quarterfinals by Netherlands.2010 World Cup: Despite scoring Brazil’s last goal in that particular tournament, Robinho was not impressive enough to pull his country out of the Netherlands’ trap in the quarterfinals, which led the 5-time world champions to a bitter exit.

Highlights

2007 Copa America: That competition proved to be a highly beneficial one for the winger, who did not only lifted the cup, but also collected individual awards, eventually.

2009 Confederations Cup: Featuring in every game, he was part of the winning team that stunned USA 3-2 in the final to lift the trophy.

Awards

Strength and Weakness

Known for his “pedala” move, Robinho definitely has the techniques needed to fool opposing defenders. His creativity in the creation of opportunities can lead to any sort of attack, while he can also prove deadly at times in front of goal. Consistency seems to be his weakness though, with his focus level seeming rather low. The danger caused by this flaw is eventually the lack of good contributions for his team in tough times.

Robinho is said to be fit for the contest.Current Form and Condition

No injury has hit the playmaker lately. He is said to be well prepared for the 2011 Copa America – a tournament in which he is expected to shine. There are no transfer speculations surrounding him at present; he is hence anticipated to remain with Italian champions AC Milan next season.
