FA WSL Matchday 6: Schedule, TV listings, featuring Man Utd vs. Arsenal

November 6, 2020 By Juan Aguerrevere
The FA Women’s Super League returns after a three-week absence with Matchday 6, boasting a clash between Manchester United and Arsenal.

U.S. Women's National Team fans who are looking to watch Sam Mewis, Tobin Heath, Rose Lavelle, Christen Press and maybe even Alex Morgan in action during Matchday 6 will be able to do so through, NBC Sports App or The FA Player.

The Barclays FA Women's Super League Matchday 6 is packed with excitment as some teams have a chance to get out of the relegation zone and others to snatch first place from Aesenal.

Game of the Week: Manchester United vs. Arsenal

Casey Stoney's Manchester United will host Joe Montemurro's Arsenal at Leigh Sports Village on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET. American fans can tune in to, NBC Sports App or The FA Player to watch USWNT stars Tobin Heath and Christen Press take on league leaders Arsenal.

Manchester United

The Manchester side enters this heated Matchday 6 matchup with four wins and one draw. Still undefeated, the Red Devils feel strong enough to stun the Gunners and more so with home advantage.

Man Utd's 4-2 win over West Ham on Matchday 5 had plenty of positive takeaways that left fans buzzing. USWNT representatives Tobin Heath and Christen Press picked up a goal each, while England's Alessia Russo bagged a brace. The side showed cohesion in attack and robust defense once again despite conceding two goals. Manchester United's backline averages only

Arsenal has displayed the most artistic and effective playing style so far in this 2020/21 FA WSL campaign. The Gunners lead the table with a perfect 15 points and boast a 25-goal differential after just five games.

Montemurro's attacking trident made up of Vivianne Miedema, Jill Roord and Caitlin Foord seem to be unstoppable, scoring a total of 20 goals. Miedema became the competition's all-time leading goalscorer after bagging in a goal against Tottenham on Matchday 5 and is the current leading scorer this season with ten goals. Roord is the second top scorer so far this year with six goals, while Foord is tied with Everton's Lucy Graham for third with four goals.

Manchester United has only conceded five goals this season, so the Gunners better be ready for a battle in attack.

Talk of the Week: Will we see a new league-leader next week?

Everton and Manchester United are trailing Arsenal by two points as they enter Matchday 6. In other words, Man Utd and Everton will have a chance to overtake Arsenal if the Red Devils seal a win on Sunday. The Everton-Chelsea and Manchester United-Arsenal games are set to start this Sunday at 7 a.m. ET and 9:30 p.m. ET respectively.

Manchester United has a chance to dethrone Arsenal on home soil and Stoney will not let a chance like this evaporate. If the Red Devils win and the Toffees fail to collect three points against Chelsea, then the club for Manchester would claim first place. However, Everton can snatch leader status if it picks up a win against Emma Hayes' start-studded Chelsea.

Let us not forget about Chelsea. The Blues have a game in hand and remain undefeated. A win over Everton and a Manchester United win or draw against Arsenal would place Chelsea in an incredible position to take the lead further down the road.
