Milan fullback Abate has welcomed possibilities of Cristiano Ronaldo joining Milan after Silvio Berlusconi stated his admiration for the Real Madrid talisman
Silvio Berlusconi was rather optimistic earlier this week when he claimed that he is a huge fan of Cristiano Ronaldo and too see him play for the Diavolo would be a massive boost for the stature of the club.

Now, Milan defender Ignazio Abate has voiced supportive comments towards Berlusconi's statement by insisting that Ronaldo would be a massive hit at the San Siro if ever he joined.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Abate said: “I believe he would do very well. I hope he comes even if I have already played with many phenomenal players here. If you had said to me that I would train with David Beckham, I wouldn't have believed you.”

Abate has been one of Milan's most consistent performers in the Serie A this season and while there has been several rumors tipping him to be included in the national team, Abate brushed them off and stressed that he is fully focused on winning the Scudetto with Milan this season.

“I am not thinking a lot about the national team right now. I am thinking about the Scudetto. I am seven games away from a dream.”

Milan currently have a three-point cushion at the top of the Serie A standings but they face a tough trip to Florence this weekend as they prepare for a clash against Fiorentina.
