Solskjaer provides worrying update on Marcus Rashford's injury

February 19, 2020 By Oscar Rojas
The Norwegian boss spoke ahead of the Red Devils' clash against Brugge, and he did not have good news for his supporters.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke prior to the UEFA Europa League match against Club Brugge, and he did not have the best of news for Manchester United fans in regards to Marcus Rashford's fitness.

The English footballer has been on the sidelines after picking up a stress-induced back fracture on January 15, and his recovery time was expected to be of around six weeks. Today, the Norwegian boss admitted that fans may have watched Rashford's last game of the season with the club, since the injury is more serious than initially expected.

"It takes time, I'm not a doctor. I was hoping he would recover quicker than what it looks like he's going to be out for. Another few months definitely. He had a scan and it was maybe more severe than what we hoped and expected," Solskjaer said today.

In fact, the former striker revealed that Rashford's presence in the 2020 UEFA Euro is yet to be determined.

"If he's not fit enough he won't go to the Euros. When it heals he will be stronger for it so it's important we don't rush it," Ole added.

Rashford had scored 18 goals in all comps for Manchester United before picking up what seems to be a season-ending injury. He also scored three goals for England in their UEFA Nations League run, and his absence would represent a massive blow to the Three Lions' chances of winning the 2020 UEFA Euro.
