The German gave his honest opinion in a mainly coy response to the rumors linking the Brazilian with the Reds.

Despite having only left the club a year ago, there has been talk about a return to Anfield for Philippe Coutinho. This comes amid a rough spell for the Brazilian

Despite an impressive start to life at Camp Nou, the Brazilian is now struggling to nail down a starting berth and finds himself behind Ousmane Dembele in the pecking order. This has led to rumors of a Camp Nou exit rumors.

Some sources have stated that the Blaugrana is willing to cash in on the South American in order to launch a move to bring back Neymar. An array of clubs have thus been linked with Coutinho, including former side Liverpool.

However, Klopps has poured cold water over those claims. While the Reds boss issued a mainly coy response, the German tactician did admit that this was neither a potential or likely transfer.

“That is something I don't want to talk about. I would not say it is a potential transfer or a likely one," Klopp revealed to reporters, as per Goal.

“Nothing to say. Whatever I say would open more stories and there is no story.

“Phil is at Barcelona and as I know he fits really well and everything is fine.”

A return to Anfield for Coutinho might also not go down well with the clubs fanbase. After leaving Merseyside mid-season in 2017/18, the supporters were furious and the Brazilian quickly went from hero to zero at the club.

Since then, however, the club has gone from strength to strength, using the money made from the deal with Barcelona to sign Van Dijk and Alisson. The Premier League outfit currently tops the standings and is one of the favorites to lift the title this term.

Next up for the Merseyside giant is a league clash with Crystal Palace. Should they win, they could move seven points clear at the top, with Man City not playing until Sunday.
