They’ve neither won nor lost any of their three games, they are at the bottom of Group F, they’ll travel to Ukraine to face Dynamo Kiev who – like Russia’s Rubin Kazan and Spain’s Barcelona – are above them.

Inter Milan in misery

An early goal from Mikhalik stunned the entire home crowd at the Giuseppe Meazza whereas an own goal from Lucio inflicted more anger than sorrow in the fans’ hearts on the night when Inter Milan could not find their way out against Dynamo Kyiv.

However, Dejan Stankovic felt relief over disappointment concerning his side’s ability to avoid defeat.

He explained:

“It was important not to get beaten because if we had done so, we’d be out of the contest.

“Even Barcelona’s result benefits us because we are still in the running. We’re lacking a victory, but we gave it our all.

“We’re thinking about the return leg, now. If we win in Kiev, we will be in a strong position. This evening, it did not go as bad as it could have.

“The important things is that we did not lose.”

Still the prospect of missing out from the last sixteen in the congested Group F is real for Seria A’s defending champions Inter Milan.

According to the club’s director, Ernesto Paolillo, the Nerazzurri have a psychological deficiency which prevents them from performing well in the UEFA Champions League.

Ernesto Paolillo confessed to mediterraneoline.it:

“The anxiety for success that has been missing for many years is being felt.

“Our approach to games in Europe is different. It is a fault that we definitely need to correct and I think that we will do it quickly.”

The mission for Jose Mourinho is to guide Inter Milan to victory against Dynamo Kiev in Ukraine on Wednesday.

Dynamo Kyiv's players celebrate after getting a goal against their opponentsDynamo Kyiv out to correct themselves

Dynamo Kyiv’s good display against Barcelona wasn’t rewarded as they ended up losing 2-0 on the night. The Ukrainians will have the chance to correct their mistakes against another top European team, Inter Milan.

Dynamo Kyiv were just one kick away from beating the Italians at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium a couple of weeks ago but Inter Milan’s Walter Adrian Samuel got the last word with his equalizer.

Reflecting on both his team and Inter Milan, former Rossoneri striker Shevchenko declared:

“Our manager likes playing attacking football and he tells us to attack with a lot of players.

“Inter are a very good side and they tried to put us in trouble and they showed that they can be compact.”

Dynamo Kyiv will need to be more effective in front of goal if they want to beat Inter Milan on home soil come Wednesday.
