Current Rankings

Here's how things stand in Group D ahead of MD 4

Preview

Barcelona are naturally expected to eventually finish top of Group D as winners, meaning that Juventus will likely have to settle for a runners-up spot. Of course, the Bianconeri still have to take on the Blaugrana for the return leg on matchday five, so anything could happen. However, Lionel Messi & Co will obviously earn all three points against Olympiakos, and thus the onus will be on Juventus to avoid slipping up in Lisbon, a place where they've had problems in the past.

In fact, Juve have lost in their last three trips to the Portuguese captial. All three failures were against Benfica, but it will definitely be a worrying stat for Bianconeri supporters as Massimiliano Allegri's men really had to work to secure a 2-1 victory versus Sporting CP on matchday three a few weeks ago. Nonetheless, the visitors have been pretty solid as of late, and come into this match having beaten AC Milan 2-0, whereas Sporting CP have been dealt a major blow due to the absences of William Carvalho and Fábio Coentrão due to injury.

In addition, Sporting CP, despite being unbeaten at home against Serie A sides, have only won one of their last six home European matches. Juventus certainly will be looking to exploit this as they aim to ensure they can overcome their frustrating Lisbon record once and for all.
