On Saturday, Man United fans saw the international break land a heavy blow to their team. Supporters of the Red Devils watched in fear as Marouane Fellaini limped off the pitch with an injury.
The Belgian ace picked up this knock in Belgium’s 4-3 win over Bosnia. The powerful midfielder suffered knee ligament damage after playing only 23 minutes on the torrid pitch.
Whilst this will have little effect on the national side, they have already booked their ticket for the 2018 World Cup, it could hamper United’s season. Luckily, his layoff will not be as long as feared, with Belgium confirming that he will be out for “a couple of weeks”.

Nonetheless, he will miss key games for Mourinho’s side. The biggest one will come immediately after the international break ends, with the 20-time Premier League champions traveling to Liverpool – a clash Fellaini will watch from the stands.
It does not end there. The former Everton midfielder will also sit out the Champions League trip to Benfica, the Premier League clash with Huddesfield, and a League Cup tie with Swansea.
Whilst Fellaini is not the perfect midfielder to lead Man United’s title challenge, the 29-year-old has impressed in the absence of Paul Pogba and Michael Carrick – both also sidelined with injuries.
