A lonely goal by PSV's Hirving Lozano gave El Tri the points needed to secure their spot in Russia next year.

From being the last team to secure their spot for the 2014 World Cup to becoming only the fifth team to do the same in the ongoing World Cup Qualifiers. That's what Mexico accomplished today against Panama with a tight 1-0 score.

Juan Carlos Osorio's men have gotten used to be practical when playing the WC Qualifiers, and their pending task will be reaching the Quarter final stage for the first time in football's most relevant tournament.

With this win, Mexico sealed their spot in the World Cup with three games left in CONCACAF's Final Round, something they hadn't been able to do in 20 years. The last time Mexico had a comfortable WCQ run came prior to the 1998 World Cup, when they needed seven games to seal their ticket.

This is the goal that sealed the deal for Mexico.

Although several teams could join them in the next few days -or weeks- , El Tri and Brazil will play their seventh straight World Cup, having played in each and every tournament of the sort since 1994.
