The Hexagonal Action Continues with Exclusive Spanish-Language Broadcast of Four World Cup Qualifiers

These World Cup qualifying fixtures include Trinidad & Tobago vs. Mexico and Panama vs. United States on Tuesday, March 28 at 7:00 p.m. and 10 p.m., respectively

Telemundo Deportes, the home of the 2018 FIFA World Cup RussiaTM, presents “Rumbo Al Mundial,” exclusive Spanish-language coverage of four key matches in the final round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying. In this round, the six CONCACAF teams continue their battle to stand in the top three and qualify to the 2018 FIFA World Cup RussiaTM. The exclusive coverage will include special content across Telemundo, Universo and Telemundo Deportes’ digital platforms.

Programming Highlights:

On Friday, March 24, Universo will present live coverage of Trinidad & Tobago vs. Panama beginning at 7 p.m. Play-by-play commentator Copán Alvarez and former Mexican player Carlos Hermosillo will call the action.

The qualifiers continue on Tuesday, March 28 with a triple header beginning at 5p.m. with Honduras vs. Costa Rica on Universo. Alvarez will call the game alongside the analysis of Frederik Oldenburg.

The action continues with a simulcast on Telemundo and Universo of the last two matches of the day, beginning at 7:00 p.m. when Mexico visits Trinidad & Tobago following its performance against Costa Rica, who currently leads the CONCACAF group. Andrés Cantor will call the game with the analysis of former Chivas de Guadalajara midfielder Manuel Sol.

The day culminates with Panama taking on USA, live at 10 p.m., as Clint Dempsey returns to the field and the new American Coach Bruce Arena tries to get the team back on track.  Soccer expert Sammy Sadovnik will call the action alongside Hermosillo.

Tuesday’s broadcasts will be preceded by “La Antesala”, a pregame special hosted by Ana Jurka and the participation of Telemundo Deportes’ experts. The pre-game coverage will include interviews with the coaches from Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, Honduras and Panama.

All games will also be available on live stream via the Telemundo Deportes EN VIVO app and TelemundoDeportes.com 

Coverage of the matches will be complemented by news and analysis around all FIFA qualifiers on TelemundoDeportes.com and the Telemundo Deportes App. Content includes live results, standings, stats, profiles, and previews and post analysis for all major matches. Highlights include: interview with some of the coaches, including Panama’s Hernán “Bolillo” Gómez and U.S.’s Bruce Arena, the return of Clint Dempsey to the USMNT, Juan Carlos Osorio’s strategy with the Mexican National Team, and much more.
