The Brazilian playmaker wasn't able to impress Antonio Conte, who left him out of the team's lineup since September.

Brazilian playmaker Oscar may have failed to impress this season on the pitch, but he's surely been able to do so away from it.

The fomer Europa League and Premier League winner with the Blues will leave the EPL club to join Shanghai SIPG side of the Chinese Super League. The Chinese club, which sacked Sven-Goran Eriksson recently, is coached by former Chelsea boss André Vilas-Boas.

Shanghai SIPG will pay £52M for the player's services, which make him the most expensive signing in this league's history. Details on the contract's length were not disclosed.

The Chinese Super League has been able to seal deals for some interesting football players in recent years. In fact, former Zenit St. Petersburg striker Hulk also plays for Shanghai SIPG. The Brazilian ace was the most expensive signing in league history until Oscar's arrival was confirmed earlier today.

Oscar joins a list of former Chelsea players to have played in this league. Didier Drogba and Nicolás Anelka had stints with Chinese clubs a few years ago, while Demba Ba and Ramires will face Oscar in domestic games.

The club is expected to receive a bumper fee for this transfer, according to reports.
