Arsenal troll Spurs after MLS All-Star win

OUCH: Arsenal troll Spurs after 2-1 victory over MLS All-Star Team

July 29, 2016 By Ali M.
The Gunners couldn’t pass up on an opportunity to poke fun at their north London rivals.

On Thursday/early Friday, Arsenal took to the pitch to play in the annual MLS All Star game which sees the best names in north American football (mainly) face off against a European giant.

Despite boasting the likes of Didier Drogba and Andrea Pirlo, it was the Gunners that came out victorious, triumphing 2-1 thanks to a late Chuba Akpom winner.

Arsene Wenger’s side then took to Twitter to troll rivals and neighbors Tottenham, tweeting after the final whistle: “Sorry MLS All-Stars, this is one north London team you couldn’t beat”.

What were the Gunners referring to? Last year’s MLS All Star game saw Spurs take part, but Mauricio Pochettino’s men were unable to come away with victory, losing 2-1 thanks to goals from David Villa and Kaka.

This just adds insult to injury for Tottenham, especially given how they lost a second-placed finish to Arsenal on the final day last season.

The Gunners won 2-1 in the Avaya Stadium, but not everything went according to plan for the English giants. They conceded from familiar foe Didier Drogba, as the Chelsea legend took his tally against Arsenal to 16 goals in as many games.

HIGHLIGHTS: Drogba scores against Arsenal again, but the Gunners win 2-1
