Premier League defending champions Leicester City have landed the signature of Nice midfielder Nampalys Mendy.

The 24-year-old is expected to partner with N’Golo Kante at the midfield as the Foxes launch their campaign to defend the title they won for the first time in their history in 2015/16. LCFC boss Claudio Ranieri had to move in swiftly to sign the on-demand midfielder amid interests from Premier League side West Ham United who wanted to sign him for 9.5 million pounds.

The King Power Stadium outfit had to increase their offer and finally managed to lure him to their fortress thanks to their 13 million-pound bid. The club confirmed their latest signing on Twitter:
