On Monday, reigning European Championship holders Spain had to break down a stubborn Czech Republic side to earn three points in their opening UEFA Euro 2016 game. A late header from Gerard Pique was enough to see La Furia Roja win 1-0.
Despite Spain’s frustration against a side who appeared happy tp settle for a draw, one man shined in the heart of midfield: Andres Iniesta. The Barca playmaker put in a stellar display, setting up Pique to score the decisive 87th minute winning goal.
But the Blaugrana ace’s heroics did not stop there, as he set two new records in a single UEFA Euro 2016 match. The 32-year-od etched his name into history by becoming the first player – alongside team-mate Cesc Fabregas – to win 10 European Championship matches.

Impressed by this Iniesta fella. Where's he been hiding all these years?

Iniesta also reached another feat, as he become the first Spanish player in history to rack up assists in three separate European Championships, setting up two goals in 2008, one in 2012, and one in the current campaign.
