A brace by Arturo Vidal earned La Roja its first three points of the tournament, but referee Jair Marrufo had much to do with them getting away with the victory

The current Copa América champions were lucky enough to overcome a tough Bolivian side while keeping their hopes of making it to the next stage alive. Nevertheless, a controversial call cast a shadow of doubt over their win.

Referee Jair Marrufo decided to give Chile a penalty kick during stoppage time, after Alexis Sánchez's cross hit Luis Gutierrez's elbow. While the decision may sound right, the defender's posture and how the ball hit his arm give cause for controversy.

Five minutes after having the penalty granted, Arturo Vidal scored the game-winning goal with a right-footed shot.
