Zlatan Ibrahimovic's salary demands have shocked a number of Premier League clubs interested in his signature.

As his tenure at Paris Saint-Germain approaches the end, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is looking for greener pastures elsewhere, most probably the Premier League. But according to the Daily Mail, the talented PSG forward will not sign for a club that is not willing to part with anything less than £600,000 a week. That is more than double the amount Wayne Rooney, who is the Premier League’s top earner, earns at Manchester United. Despite being available on a free transfer when his contract with Les Parisiens expires at the end of the season, the bullish forward is not backing down on his demands especially after steering the French giants to yet another Ligue 1 title this season.

Premier League's top earners:

1. Wayne Rooney (Man Utd): £260,000-a-week

2. Sergio Aguero (Man City): £240k

3. Yaya Toure (Man City): £240k

4. Eden Hazard (Chelsea): £220k

5. David Silva (Man City): £200k

6. Mesut Ozil (Arsenal): £190k

7. Raheem Sterling (Man City): £180k

8. Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea): £170k

9. Kevin De Bruyne (Man City): £170k

10. John Terry (Chelsea): £160k

In the 2015/16 season alone, the Swedish forward has scored 38 goals in 40 appearances and provided 14 assists. Several reports had also linked him with a move to China where he was expected to earn £1 million a week as an ambassador of the Chinese Super League, but the 34-year-old did not seem interested.

WATCH: Zlatan confirms interest from Premier League clubs:

Earlier this week, his agent Raniola confirmed that the top four Premier League clubs are interested in Zlatan’s signature, except Manchester City due to Pep Guardiola’s impending arrival at the Etihad Stadium next season. Given that The Citizens are well-known for their financial might, their lack of interest in Zlatan’s signature now turns heads towards Old Trafford’s direction or probably the Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are in dire need of reshuffling their squad after a disappointing season, while Man United’s attack is in the mercy of youngsters such as Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, who need the support of an experienced forward to ease the pressure. Also, considering Jose Mourinho’s expected arrival at Old Trafford, Zlatan’s chance of joining the Red Devils could be high, just like his expected salary.
