The Reds grabbed their very first victory in their very first European clash with the Red Devils, put an end to Louis Van Gaal’s perfect record against the Merseyside giants, and handed their German boss his first victory over their bitter rivals.
However, the game was smeared in controversy after Daniel Sturridge opened the scoring through a debatable first-half penalty.
Speaking after the final whistle, the Normal One gave his thoughts on the call to award the home side a spot kick, calling it the right decision.
After hearing from journalists in his post-match press conference, though, that not everyone agreed that it was a rightful penalty, the former BVB boss jokingly apologized.
