Reports from Spain and Turkey suggest that "Zizou" has asked Florentino Pérez to sign German striker Mario Gómez to boost the team's attack. Gomez's role with the team would be similar to the one played by Mexican striker Javier Hernández last year, claiming Karim Benzema's spot in the lineup whenever he came down with an injury.
The German striker has enjoyed a good season with Besiktas.

Zidane was appointed on Monday as Real Madrid's new coach substituting Rafa Benitez after seven months at the helm. He will make his debut next Saturday, when Los Blancos host Deportivo la Coruña at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
