The Gunners have been in impeccable form as of late having won all of their last four matches, this includes a 2-0 win over European heavy weights Bayern Munich. Their good run has allowed them to climb to the second spot in the league table.
Their opponents Sheffield Wednesday have been on a good run themselves and are currently unbeaten in eight games in all competitions. They got the better of Premier League side Newcastle in the third round of the Capital One Cup and will be hoping to condemn Arsenal to a similar fate.
Wenger has used the Capital One Cup to nurture young talent in the past and is poised to give some of his fringe players the chance to prove themselves. One of these players is Joel Campbell who is yet to feature in the Premier League this season and his manager has urged him to prove his worth.
"I like Joel Campbell very much for two reasons," he told reporters.
"One is that he has outstanding individual quality, but he is also a team player. He works very hard for the team.
"I'm convinced he will get a chance here and that he will take it. He has another opportunity against Sheffield Wednesday and I’m hopeful that he will show that he has the quality to play for Arsenal."
"We want the players who come in to the team to show they are able to make the squad successful, and do absolutely everything to help us win," he said.
"That's the job of a footballer. When you get the chance, you have to be ready."
With Olivier Giroud having played in Arsenal's last encounter against Everton, Theo Walcott is poised to lead the line for the Gunners whereas vice captain Per Mertesacker is also likely to return. The likes of Arteta , Ramsey, Wilshere, Welbeck, Ospina and Rosicky will remain on the sidelines.
Sheffield are expected to be without a number of key players with all of Michael Turner, Alex Lopez, Marco Matias and Modou Sougou unavailable for the match.
